Description
Describe the bug
While running SMAPI 4.3.2, my console window worked perfectly well. After following the upgrade instructions, I got mostly black-on-black text.
To Reproduce
Exact steps which reproduce the bug, if possible. For example:
- Take an install on Kubuntu Linux 24.04 LTS inside a firejail sandbox (profile available on request) which is functioning pefectly well with SMAPI 4.3.2, with
xtermusing its default light-on-dark scheme. - Follow the instructions to upgrade SMAPI 4.5.1, including selecting light-on-dark as "more readable" when prompted.
- Launch Stardew Valley
- xterm window has a few yellow lines with big spans of "blank" lines between them which show themselves to be text when copy-pasted.
Using GMCM to manually set "Lighter text (for dark backgrounds)" reveals the text as expected.

Screenshots
Ignore the Fontconfig error and the "Couldn't check for ...". Those are normal side-effects of the sandbox.
The former because I haven't had sufficient reason to spend the time figuring out what I'd need to whitelist for games that are going to use their own bitmap fonts anyway and the latter because my single-player install of Stardew Valley is sandboxed off from network access, both for my own safety and to minimize variables so I can be more confident that, if it works today, I'll be able to keep it working in the decades to come.
...though if you can tell me which files on the host system I need to whitelist in my multiplayer Stardew Valley sandbox profiles to get rid of that (Never mind the crossed out part. I remembered something and tested and confirmed a hypothesis that I needed to replace UntrustedRoot error in the TRACE log entries, that'd mean SMAPI can actually check for updates and the like after I re-run my sandbox generator with --dns=1.1.1.1 to create an /etc/resolv.conf.private-etc none with private-etc ssl/certs.)
