App icon does not work

Describe the bug

App icon & dash icons do not open Todoist.

Expected behavior

I expected the app (Todoist) to open when clicking on the App Icon in Apps/Launcher/Activity overview etc.

Steps to reproduce the issue

I installed the .deb AppImageLauncher on Ubuntu 24.04.
Set the Location for Appimage files to /home/Apps/ (where I currently have other apps located)
Opened Todoist from /Downloads.
Clicked 'integrate', Todoist moved to /home/Apps/, and opened.
Quit Todoist.
Hit 'Super' and type Todoist, app icon shows up, click / press enter.
Todoist does nott open.
Check Todoist in Home/Apps, click and it opens, seems to work fine (adding tasks etc, searching)
Quit Todoist

Actual issue: Launching Todoist from GNOME (Activities/App grid/Dash) uses the integrated .desktop file generated by AppImageLauncher (~/.local/share/applications/appimagekit_…-Todoist.desktop). When launched that way, Todoist (Electron/Chromium) crashed immediately with a SUID sandbox error:

FATAL: ... setuid_sandbox_host.cc ... chrome-sandbox ... is not configured correctly ... aborting now

This is why clicking the menu/Dash icon “did nothing” (the process exited instantly).

Was it related to an existing Todoist install or an existing desktop shortcut?

Not related to an existing system install: You had no Todoist launcher in /usr/share/applications (so no prior system-wide desktop shortcut/package conflict).

Not caused by duplicate desktop files: There was only the AppImageLauncher-generated .desktop in ~/.local/share/applications/.

What actually fixed it:

Confirmed the crash path by launching via GNOME’s mechanism (gtk-launch …) and seeing the sandbox abort.

Confirmed the app runs when sandbox is disabled by launching the AppImage directly with:

…AppImage --no-sandbox (Todoist opened successfully).

Updated the AppImageLauncher-generated .desktop primary Exec= line to include --no-sandbox:

to: Exec=…AppImage --no-sandbox --ozone-platform=x11 %U

Logged out/in (GNOME cached the old launcher command). After that, the Dash icon worked.
