Description

Before opening

  • I searched existing issues for a similar report.
  • This is not a security vulnerability.

Affected area

PipeWire routing or default output following

Mini EQ version

0.8.5

Install method

Flathub

Linux distribution and version

Bazzite 44

Desktop/session

GNOME Wayland

PipeWire and WirePlumber versions

1.6.4, 0.5.12

Steps to reproduce

I have two profiles:

  1. Headset Profile
Image
  1. Speakers Profile
Image

Those two profiles are configured as Auto-Preset for my headset and my speakers respectively.
Everything works fine, my "EQ Output" is configured to follow the system output and when I switch the global output of my system to either my speakers or my headset, the right profile is applied by MiniEQ.

When the speakers profile is selected and I reboot, the headset profile is applied even though the global output of my system is still the speakers:

The tooltip for Scope then says this :

I'm not sure what happens and what log files could help debug this.
Note that it seems to happen like 80% of the time so it may be a race condition again. I think it only affects the speakers profile, if the headset profile is selected it seems to stay selected after a reboot.

Expected behavior

The profile stays the same after a reboot.

Actual behavior

MiniEQ switches to the wrong profile.
