From my point of view, what users need here is not only an explanation that Python is ahead, but a parity roadmap or at least a clearly defined stable subset for Java. Otherwise the Java package reads like a moving target with unclear expectations. Even a lightweight matrix showing core agent features, tool support, and planned catch-up areas would make adoption decisions much easier. |

The Java version has a separate release cycle from the Python version, so new ADK features don't necessarily reach Java at the same time. That said, the Java SDK is actively catching up. The latest Java release is v1.11.0, and recent releases have added features such as resumability improvements, code execution/media configuration, A2A updates, and other API improvements. So if you're starting with Java, I'd recommend checking the current Java release and documentation for the feature you need rather than comparing the versions only by their version numbers. The Java implementation is evolving quickly, and feature parity can change between releases. |

Why is the Java version so far behind the Python version? I’ve read through the Python version, but I want to try using the Java version.
