META: Ignite dApp Frontend

Context:

The Ignite Frontend consists of ignite ts-client, ignite composable, hooks, vue and react and the https://github.com/ignite/web template.

Currently, the web interface is outdated, the ts-client is broken and breaking the generation of all frontend.

Users have been reporting en masse issues:

• FIX: Generating ts-client is broken #4305
• FIX: Cannot find module '@bufbuild/protobuf/wire' #4385
• FIX: ENOSPC Error During npm run dev in React Frontend App #4259

Tasks

• Fix ts-client (fix(cosmosgen): fix ts-client #4347)
• Add regression tests to verify ts-client stay working (feat(cosmosgen,cosmosanalysis): generic query template #4706)
• Simplify frontend a pick one framework (React vs Vue) (feat: Updated vue library and template web#292, refactor!: remove react frontend + re-enable disabled integration tests #4744)
  • (Personal opinion is to take vue, and if people want to use react, they can use the ignite cca app).
  • Update https://github.com/ignite/web to latest framework (Vue 3, latest interchainjs, etc..)

Note

This issue isn't about a possible frontend to interact with ignite, but a dApp frontend.

Ignite CCA Apps is using the latest cosmology components as an alternative in the meantime: ignite/apps#140

Hey,

So, in the time since the original ts-client , I've been using a customised telescope script for generating js/ts encoders/decoders & clients as needed for atomone and govgen.

The config/setup is based on cosmjs-types and makes generating a piece of cake as long as you have the proto files in one place (which i believe with buf is already what we're doing).

I would like us to extend this to cover what generating ts-client/composables etc did and get a slightly more robust version of client generation than what we currently have.

As far as vue is concerned, I have a few more components build that could be useful to the templates (as used in eclesia dApps such as staking and governance) including a wallet composable that supports all of Keplr, Leap and Cosmostation (instead of just keplr)

Finally I have built a lightweight modular indexer for sdk-based chains which could be interesting to see if its worth providing generation for through an app or something.
