There doesn't seem to be an API for this yet: docs.github.com/en/enterprise-cloud@latest/rest/repos/repos?apiVersion=2022-11-28#update-a-repository

Once there is, there needs to be support in google/go-github as well

Symfony would need this badly. The API does support it now, even if the doc doesn't say so.
