[Bug]: Port issues - connection refused

Describe the bug

Connection Refused on windows, adjusting the port resolves the issue, but no nothing shows up per #329

Here I have setup a preference to adjust the port from the ui, I will submit a PR once I clean it up

To reproduce

1. This has been happening off and on since v3, the problem, with hardcoding a port is everyone's system is different
2. This happens only for me on windows
3. Launch masscode
4. Look at errors in console

It’s too edge case to report, it seems to me.
