I like this idea. A lot... For the exact reasons specified. The antenna height above ground can be specified but not the antenna gain. Would benefit repeaters & static companions. |

Really good idea. Would be super helpful to be able to select what antenna I am using for better simulation. |

Hey there thanks for the request. The antenna coverage tool in the MeshCore app is only really a simple line of sight test. Unfortunately it's not planned to integrate antenna propagation simulations or gain etc etc. I'll close this one out as not planned :) |

In the settings of the antenna coverage tool, I think it would be very handy to be able to choose from a few different antenna gains to allow for the focusing effect as you increase gain.
The context for this idea is that if a station is (for example) high above a local populated area, an antenna with high gain may be focusing the majority of its pattern on the horizon and "miss" the town below, effectively reducing its local coverage, whereas a lower gain antenna may serve the area better.
A gain selection with low (e.g. 3dBi), medium (e.g. 5.8dBi) and high gain (e.g. 8dBi) antenna radiation patterns may aid in the selection of the best one for an installation.
