rcvtool TypeError: version() takes 0 positional arguments but 1 was given

I installed rcv3tool according to the instructions in the RVC3-python github.

When trying to launch the rvctool I got the following error:

My Linux is Ubuntu 22.04
I've tried this with two different terminals: terminator and Ubuntu distro standard terminal.
I've tied clean slate ubuntu 22.04 installation in Qemu.
I run the seem to be problematic code in python terminal

f"RTB=={version('roboticstoolbox-python')}")

and it works as expected.

I finally got it working by using --no-banner command line option.

I used a coding agent to understand and fix this.

The issue is with the banner generation function in rvctool.py. The --no-banner flag bypasses the problematic make_banner() function where the version() function conflict occurs. Let me fix the banner generation issue.

The problem is that spatialmath.base contains a version function that's conflicting with the importlib.metadata.version function imported at line 19. The wildcard import from spatialmath.base import * on line 41 is overriding the version function.

The change in line 18 of rvctool.py

from importlib.metadata import version as pkg_version

corrects the issue.
