Support creation of arbitrary gradle artifacts

The initial goal of this project was to build Gradle Applications that apply the application plugin.

This is an arbitrary limitation and there is no technical limitation that prevents us from also building jar,war or any other files or data.

Therefore, I propose a new buildGradleArtifact builder function that can be used for that purpose. The buildGradleApplication builder function stays the same but uses the buildGradleArtifact function internally.

(actually i need it for a war project i'm developping)

The modification i wanted to do is allowing to pass custom buildPhase and installPhase to buildGradleApplication (and to buildGradleArtifact` when developped)

What do you think ?

What exactly are you trying to do in the custom buildPhase and installPhase?

Haven't thought thoroughly through this but is there something that you can't achieve by overriding preBuild,postBuild, preInstall and postInstall or even buildPhase/installPhase directly except for the linking?

First think, is that i can't override preInstall and other things, because extra arguments to buildGradleApplication are not passed to mkDerivation.
And second, there is some parts of the linking that are currently innacurate (for example, current install phase looks for a .jar file in the build/ directory, which fails when i am generating a war file)

And i think we should not assess anything about what is the build folder like.
My goal is to have buildGradleArtifact with no installPhase (by default an error message saying "please implement an installPhase")
