Couple of things:

  • According to the man page 1 is used if the page is resident in RAM. At the moment you're returning 0, AFAICS.
  • You say that we don't have paging so we always return 0. I think what you're saying is that we never swap out pages so we can consider pages always resident in RAM? That isn't strictly true; we do have demand paging. Therefore, VMAs may well be partially resident in RAM. This is true for both anonymous and file-backed VMAs.

Alright, I fixed the implementation and actually checked if pages were mapped or not. I actually didn't realize that we having demand paging. Also I've added a sanity test.
