Bug: Codex pet briefly disappears (~50 ms) when pressing Backspace

The Codex pet briefly disappears when Backspace is pressed while using Codex in BossTerm. It reappears after approximately 50 ms, producing a visible flicker.

Steps to reproduce

1. Open Codex in BossTerm with the Codex pet visible.
2. Type into the Codex input.
3. Press Backspace and watch the pet.

Actual behavior

The pet disappears for approximately 50 ms and then reappears when Backspace is pressed. Duration is the user's visual estimate, not a measured timing.

Expected behavior

Backspace edits the input without causing the pet to disappear or flicker.

Investigation / acceptance criteria

• Reproduce the Backspace-triggered flicker and determine whether it originates in terminal redraw handling or Codex's emitted updates; root cause is not yet confirmed.
• Keep the pet visually stable during individual and repeated Backspace presses, while preserving correct input editing and intentional pet updates.
• Verify that the fix does not leave stale terminal content or introduce redraw artifacts elsewhere in the Codex UI.

Reported by the user; not independently reproduced. BossTerm and Codex versions were not supplied.
